Your role in helping us shape the future:

Our mission is to produce journalism and thought leadership that empowers independent thinkers to better understand their communities, their governments, and the world around them, through a combination of rigorous data analysis, reporting and compelling narrative. Our purpose is to help them understand the complexity of today’s systems so they can take action and make informed decisions impacting their daily lives.

This individual will manage a portfolio of initiatives to optimize and grow our audience throughout the vertical, focusing closely on data to ensure user engagement is maximized on all types of pages. The Product Manager will also focus on developing new audiences and collaborate with our editorial and SEO team to define and implement strategies.

A clear understanding of building online news and information traffic with a deep interest in data analysis is required. Traffic and revenue decisions must be informed by data to ensure resources and content remain centered on maintaining and growing the business. The Product Manager will report to the General Manager and will work closely with the editorial teams to support content strategies across the vertical.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • Translate business strategy into product strategy. Define the roadmap.
  • Execute product strategy
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and opportunities for optimization
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Support the Product Owner with any questions they may have
  • Manage and maintain backlog
  • Provide end-to-end project management
  • Communicate with the team and ensure all members are on board with delegated tasks
  • Support ongoing initiatives such as video integration and optimization
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

You should definitely have:

  • 3-5 years of digital product management experience with proven results
  • Goal-oriented, analytical thinker with a business owner mindset
  • Above average analytical skills including pivot tables
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles
  • Conceptual understanding of web development languages
  • Strong interest in a digital product management career track
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

It would be nice if you had:

  • Familiarity with website analysis tools such as Adobe & Google Analytics
  • Experience in JIRA
